MEET JULZ

I’ve been working in the fitness industry for over 10 years and founded Down To Lift 8 years ago (formerly Resilient Strength Coaching).

Like many women, my own fitness journey started with wanting to change my body which led to some unhealthy relationships with food, training, and self-worth. Through education, lived experience, and completing my Diploma of Fitness, I’ve come out the other side with a deep understanding of what actually helps women become strong, healthy, and confident.

I take a bullshit-free approach to coaching. Women have been let down by the fitness industry for decades, sold quick fixes, restrictive plans, and a whole lot of shit that disconnects them. I’m not here for that. My work is grounded in education, evidence, and real life not trends or fear-based marketing.

I work mostly with women in their 40s–60s, supporting them through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Strength training at this stage of life is essential. Building muscle and protecting bone density is what supports independence, confidence, and long-term health.

My goal is simple: I want to see every woman in the weights section of the gym. Women don’t need more restriction or body hatred, they need to be fuelled, supported, and taught how to train properly. Strength training isn’t about shrinking yourself, it’s about building a body that’s strong as fuck for life.

Qualifications: Cert III, IV & Diploma of fitness, Sports nutrition, Pre & Post Natal Coaching certified, Training perimenopausal & Menopausal women, punch fit qualified coach.

MEET CAT

I’ve always enjoyed fitness and strength training, but over time I became especially passionate about helping women build strength for long-term health and confidence.

What started as a personal interest led me to complete my Certificate III and IV in Fitness and turn this passion into a career. Taking the plunge and moving away from my corporate job that was impacting my mental and physical health to improve my own quality of life and hopefully others. I love working with people who want to feel stronger and more capable in their bodies whether you’re new to the gym, returning after time away, or have been training consistently.

Alongside my PT work, I also work supporting older clients to stay mobile, independent, and confident in everyday life. This has shaped my belief in training that supports longevity, function, and quality of life.

I also have personal experience in endurance training, including completing ultramarathons. One of my proudest moments was finishing a Sri Chinmoy Ultra as the last woman but still placing and getting a trophy, a reminder that you don’t have to be the fastest or strongest to do hard things. Showing up and finishing matters.

Qualifications: Cert III & Cert IV in fitness, punchfit qualified coach.

MEET LOUISE

I started my fitness journey back in 2020 in my garage, fumbling my way through workouts not sure what I was doing. Over time I felt and saw progress until it was time to enter a real gym to take my training and knowledge to the next level. I have now been training for 5 years and never looked back!

I loved the gym and my new lifestyle so much that in 2021 I decided to become a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist to inspire and support others in their fitness journey. I coach many different clients each with their own unique background, needs and goals. My primary focus is to make exercise as accessible and appealing as possible!

I have been a PT for 4 years and it continues to bring me happiness and purpose. I especially enjoy building strong relationships with my clients, really getting to know them so we can have challenging and fun sessions together!

I also study Psychology at UC. My interest in psychology guides my coaching style as I take a wholistic lifestyle approach to goal setting and programming.
