OUR MISSION

Our mission is to see everyday women invest in themselves by lifting weights and eating in a non restrcitive way that nourishes and sustains them to prioritise health, strength, longevity and enhance quality of life.

 

To build a strong community of women who support one another, empowered with knowledge to enhance their lives through strength training and give them permission to live a lifestyle that aligns with their values and individuality.

COACH JULZ

My fitness journey began in my late teens, I originally joined the gym because I was insecure about my body. I remember feeling so anxious at the gym that I would sometimes get overwhelmed and leave only a few minutes after arriving.

As I persevered, I grew confident in weightlifting and group fitness, but this led to an unhealthy fixation on weight loss and my body image. I overtrained, ate restrictively, and suffered physical and mental distress as a result.

The worst part was I thought I was being the healthiest bitch of all time due to my lack of knowledge.

Years of this cycle followed until completing my diploma in fitness which completely transformed my approach.

I now emphasize exercise and weight lifting as a means to build strength and add quality years to your life, the importance of rest, self-care, and balanced, non restrcitive nutrition.

 

I lift weights 3 times a week, enjoy daily walks with my dog Frank, eat in a way that fuels my lifestlye, and enjoy a vibrant social life. Sharing this perspective with clients, I advocate integrating fitness without it overwhelming life.

Going through years of disorderd eating to then learning how to live a life enriched with balance has enabled me to help women overcome restrictive mindsets.

I've worked in the fitness industry since 2016 and having worked with 100's of clients, helping women over 40 navigate perimenopause & menopause through the benefits of strength training has been incredibly rewarding.

​

Creating the DOWN TO LIFT community and empowering everyday women to embrace strength, nourishment and balanced living is my heartfelt mission.
